Easy Plate YM-R is a rapid, ready-to-use prepared media plate designed for the detection and enumeration of yeast and mold in food samples. It eliminates the need for conventional media preparation and sterilization, helping reduce testing time, labor, and laboratory waste.
The Easy Plate YM-R chemical indicator produces purple-colored colonies, making yeast and mold colonies easier to identify and count, even when food residues are present. Yeast colonies typically appear as small circles with defined edges, while mold colonies spread more widely with diffuse edges.
Results are available in 48–72 hours at 25 ± 1°C. If colony growth is insufficient after 48 hours, incubation can be extended up to 72 hours. The method provides a shorter incubation time compared with conventional agar media.
The compact Easy Plate format requires approximately 1/20th the space of a traditional Petri dish, helping laboratories save incubation and storage space. Easy Plate YM-R is also certified by AOAC RI PTM, MicroVal, and NordVal.
