Easy Plate™ SA is a ready-to-use prepared media plate designed for the cultivation, identification, and enumeration of Staphylococcus aureus in food samples. It eliminates the need for conventional media preparation and sterilization, helping save laboratory time, labor, and space.
Easy Plate SA contains a chromogenic substrate that produces bright blue colonies of Staphylococcus aureus, making the colonies easy to identify and count. Other bacteria that may grow on the selective medium generally produce pink to red-violet colonies, helping distinguish them from Staphylococcus aureus.
The test provides results in approximately 24 ± 1 hours, reducing the testing time compared with conventional methods such as Baird-Parker agar and Mannitol Salt Agar with egg yolk. Easy Plate SA also has a high correlation with conventional plate count agar methods.
Easy Plates compact film format requires approximately 1/20th of the space of a traditional Petri dish, helping laboratories save incubation and storage space.
