Easy Plate™ LS is a ready-to-use prepared media plate designed for the cultivation, detection, and enumeration of Listeria species. Its custom media formulation eliminates the need for conventional media preparation and sterilization, helping save laboratory time, labor, and space.
Easy Plate LS contains a chemical indicator that produces easily distinguishable blue-colored colonies, making Listeria colonies easier to visualize and count, even when food residue or other sources of color are present. Results can be obtained in approximately 24 ± 1 hours.
The compact Easy Plate format requires approximately 1/20th the volume of a traditional Petri dish, helping laboratories save incubation space and perform more tests within their existing capacity. The products performance is designed to provide results equivalent to conventional agar media in 24 hours.
Easy Plate LS can be used for both quantitative and qualitative testing. For qualitative testing, the official instructions specify selective enrichment using Half-Fraser broth or a similar selective enrichment medium before testing.
