Easy Plate™ AC-R is a ready-to-use prepared media plate designed for the rapid detection and enumeration of aerobic bacteria in food samples. Its convenient film format eliminates the need for conventional media preparation and sterilization, helping save laboratory time, labor, and space.
Easy Plate AC-R contains a chemical indicator that produces clearly distinguishable red-colored colonies, making aerobic bacteria easier to identify and count, including in samples with food residue or coloration. The method provides results in approximately 24 ± 1 hours at 35 ± 1°C.
The formulation also helps reduce the spreading of Bacillus spp. colonies, which can spread on conventional agar media and make enumeration more difficult. Easy Plate AC-R demonstrates high correlation with conventional plate count agar across various food types.
Its compact film format uses approximately 1/20th the volume of a traditional Petri dish, helping laboratories save incubation space and perform more tests within existing laboratory capacity.
Easy Plate AC-R is AOAC RI PTM certified and is supplied in a package of 100 tests.
